Joe Korba, Associate Publisher
Joe has been the Associate Publisher of the IDP Newspaper Division since July of 2013. He takes great pride in the support for both papers, The Home News and Town & Country Gazette, in their respective communities. Joe has a passion for print journalism and hopes to help transition both of these long-running community papers into the new media age. Joe is a graduate of both Bloomsburg University and Penn College in Williamsport.
Bill Halbfoerster, Editor Emeritus
Bill started working on The Home News back in 1946 at the age of 16, setting type by hand. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954, he took over as editor when the former editor, Rev. Reginald Helfferich, left in 1955 to serve as executive church of Church World Service. Bill’s job is more than an editor; he continues to serve as a reporter and photographer for the Bath, Nazareth, and Northampton area at the age of 84. He looks forward to serving our readers’ needs for many years to come.
Catherine Stroh, Publishing Assistant
Catherine has always enjoyed being creative; even as a little kid, she would write short stories and make little photo essays. She graduated from Northern Lehigh High School and received an Associate’s Degree in Communications from LCCC. Not only does she love to write, but she loves reading and photography as well. In her free time, she can be found outdoors bike riding and spending time with her cocker spaniel, Daisy, who takes up the majority of her photo gallery. If she can entertain or inform someone through words or photographs, then she feels as though she has served her purpose.
Paul Wasser, Advertising Sales Associate
Paul has an extensive background in marketing and business. He has over fifteen years experience in the field. He previously consulted in the entertainment industry. Paul has consulted for major minor and independent artist and record labels in the music industry helping them to succeed. He is excited to assist you in being successful as a business and looks forward to helping you.
Tony Pisco, Art Director
Tony is a graduate of Penn State University and has been the Art Director for The Home News since November 2008. He is responsible for the look and design of every aspect of the paper. He resides in Northampton with his wife and two sons. Evan’s favorite color is green, while Leo has not yet made up his mind.
Danielle Tepper, Staff Writer
Danielle grew up on the Jersey shore before moving to the Lehigh Valley in 2002. Her love of writing started when she was just eight years old, but it was an introduction to journalism course at Nazareth Area H.S. that set her on a career path. In 2010, she received her B.A. in Communication Media from Lock Haven University of PA. She worked for her high school and college newspapers and has written for three newspapers since then (plus two magazines). She has a passion for sharing people’s stories and helping their voices be heard. She can be found covering various events around town.
Alice Wanamaker, Editorial Assistant
Alice graduated from Northwestern Lehigh and later LCCC. She takes personal pride in making sure each and every issue of The Home News that lands on your kitchen table is fun to read, exciting to look at, and contains plenty of photos of you, your family, and your neighbors. As a member of the local community, she truly cherishes the tradition and community that the Halbfoersters spent so many years building for all of us to enjoy.
Donna Bachman, Accounting Manager
Donna is a graduate of Slatington High School and a resident of Lehigh Township for 34 years. Employed as Accounting Manager with Innovative Designs & Publishing, Inc. As part of the THN team, the accounting division handles all the monthly invoicing and processing of all account receivable payments. Monthly profit and loss reports are generated for each division as well.
